At Smugglers Cafe, we aim to keep our carbon- and plastic- footprint as low as possible, and do what we can to support environmental causes.  If we can help with your campaign, please let us know!

We are a proud member of the Surfers Against Sewage 250 Group - a group of like-minded businesses supporting SAS in their work to protect the oceans.

We use Origin coffee, which is bought directly from carefully selected, sustainable farms, often at high altitude, where the use of pesticides is unnecessary.  Origin have a strong environmental policy, as outlined on their own website:

Most of our loose-leaf teas are from the Tregothnan estate in Cornwall, grown organically on the banks of the River Fal!

We have recyclable takeaway cups, paper straws and paper bags, and our cake boxes are compostable.  We also encourage customers to bring their own reusable takeaway cups, with a 20p discount.

We offer a range of alternative milks, including Oatly, Rude Health, and Bonsoy, and don't charge extra for these, except the Bonsoy (as it's twice as much..)

Our bread is organic, mulit-grain sourdough from the Celtic Bakers, and their pastries are also organic.

The Cornish Orchards juices are organic, as are our Matcha lattes and Turmeric lattes.  We only sell soft drinks in glass bottles or cans.

We make our own juices and smoothies using fresh fruit and pressed juices, and organic wheatgrass powder.

These give you a great nutritious boost, a dose of antioxidants, and are cleansing after a night out!

We specialise in gluten-free options, and have nearly as many vegan options now too.  You'll find at least two options for each amongst our homemade cakes and bars, and at least one option that is both gluten-free and vegan.  And our homemade protein bars are gluten-free, vegan and refined sugar-free - but still taste great!

Most of our savoury dishes can be made gluten-free, including breakfasts, toasties and crepes.  And we have a vegan breakfast, vegan and gluten-free granola and smoothie bowls, vegan soup, and a couple of vegan toasties and baps.

We are pleased to now serve nearly as many oat lattes as regular lattes, so if you haven't tried one yet, give it a go!
